Do my dealers have to add the car to every order?
Workspace → Order form decides it: on by default; switch it off and dealers can continue with just the original file.

By default, yes: every order your dealers place names the car. The switch Dealers must add the car under Workspace → Order form lets you change that. Switch it off when you read the car from the file anyway, and your dealers can continue with just the original file.
What does "Dealers must add the car" change?
The Dealers must add the car switch decides what the first step of the order wizard asks for before Continue works.
- On (the default). Continue needs the car: looked up by plate or VIN, found by search, picked from the list, or typed in by the dealer on the Not listed form for a car that is not in our list. Because a dealer can always type the car in, "required" never leaves an order stuck.
- Off. Continue works as soon as the original file has finished uploading. A dealer can still add the car; the confirm step shows Car: not specified with an Add the car link for a dealer who wants to.
The setting is saved the moment you flip the switch, and a message confirms the change.
Which orders does the setting cover?
The Dealers must add the car switch covers every order headed for your workspace: orders from your dealers, orders from partner tuners, and the orders you place yourself for a customer through New order → For a customer (placing-an-order-for-a-dealer). There is no per-dealer exception.
Orders that go to the platform pool rather than to a tuner's workspace always need the car, whatever this switch says: nobody in the pool has agreed to read the car from the file.
How do I recognise an order without a catalogue car?
An order without a catalogue car carries a badge in the work queue and on the order page:
- Unlisted vehicle — the car is not in our list; the dealer typed the details in, or took them from a plate lookup. The order page shows what was given: make, model, engine and year, plus fuel, power, ECU (engine control unit) and gearbox when the dealer filled them in.
- Car not specified — the order came in with just the original file, which only happens while the switch is off.
The dealer sees the same labels on their own orders.
How do I set the car on an order?
On the order page, press Set the car. The dialog offers two ways:
- Pick from catalogue — search for the engine and press Set this car. The order then carries the catalogue car with its specifications.
- Enter details — fill in make, model, engine and year (fuel, power, ECU and gearbox are optional) and press Save the car. The details are saved on this order only; the catalogue stays as it is.
For an order that already has a catalogue car, the same dialog opens from Change car, for when the file turns out to be from a different engine.
Setting the car later does not change the price. The price was fixed when the dealer placed the order; to charge differently, use the revision and refund tools on the order.
What does a dealer pay for an order without a catalogue car?
For an unlisted car, and for an order where the car is not specified, the order wizard offers the default Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 at your default stage prices (the platform default where you have not set one), without power gains, because gains are only known for a listed engine. The dealer pays that price when placing the order.
If dealers still cannot continue without the car
Check that the switch shows off under Workspace → Order form, and ask the dealer which tuner the order is headed for — an order headed for the platform pool always needs the car. If the switch is off and the dealer's order to your workspace still asks for the car, open a support ticket naming the dealer and the time they tried.
