Campaigns send to audiences — saved segments you define once under Email → Audiences and reuse across sends.
What an audience is
An audience is a set of filters over the people your workspace knows: your dealers and your collected contacts (website leads, enquiry senders). Filter by what they are (dealers vs leads), how active they are, and what they have done — for example "dealers with an order in the last 90 days" or "leads who enquired but never became a dealer".
Audiences are live: the segment re-evaluates at send time, so a dealer who joined yesterday is inside "all dealers" today without touching the audience.
Counts before commitment
Every audience shows its current recipient count, and the campaign composer shows exactly how many will receive the send — checked against your monthly recipient allowance before anything goes out.
Consent and unsubscribes
Every campaign carries an unsubscribe link, automatically. Unsubscribed recipients drop out of all audiences for campaigns while continuing to receive the transactional email their account requires (order updates, invoices) — marketing consent and operational email are separate lanes, as the law expects.
Two audiences cover most businesses for months: "active dealers" for operational announcements, and "leads, never converted" for winning new ones. Add more only when a real send needs a real distinction.
Who should NOT be in an audience
Bought lists. Never import addresses that did not ask to hear from you — beyond the legal exposure, cold lists generate the spam complaints that get your verified domain filtered for everyone (deliverability).
