How do customers pay in my website shop?
Set up payments under Website → Shop. Customers pay on a Stripe page; we keep Stripe's fee plus our markup on it, and you get the rest.

Customers pay for what they order on your website on a secure Stripe page, by card, iDEAL and other local methods. Before your shop can take a payment you set up a payout account once: open Website → Shop and press Set up payments on the Payments for your shop card. Stripe asks for your business and bank details on its own page and sends you back to the shop page when you are done.
What does a sale cost me?
A sale costs you the payment provider's own fee for that payment (Stripe's fee, which depends on the payment method) plus our markup on top of that fee. The Payments for your shop card states the markup as a percentage. There is no other commission on a shop sale: everything else is paid out to your bank account. VAT you charge your customer is paid out with the rest, and you declare it yourself.
When is the money paid out?
The money for a sale is paid out to your bank account a set number of hours after the payment; the card on the shop page states how many. The short wait means a refund made soon after a sale is paid from the money still waiting, rather than taken back from your bank account later.
What do visitors see before payments are set up?
Until the payout account can receive money, your website shows your products and prices without Add to cart or Buy now buttons, and a product page says that online ordering is not open yet. The parts search shows a found part with a request form instead of a buy button. Nothing a visitor does can end in a checkout that fails.
What do the statuses on the card mean?
- Not set up — you have not started; press Set up payments.
- Action needed — Stripe still needs details from you; press Continue setup.
- Being checked — you have sent everything and Stripe is checking it.
- Taking payments — your shop sells. Open payout dashboard opens your Stripe dashboard, where you see payouts and change your bank account.
Still stuck?
If the card keeps saying Action needed after you finished the Stripe page, open a ticket and mention the status shown on the card and the country of your business (getting-help).
