Credits

How do credits work?

Credits are the prepaid unit tuning work is priced in — buy once, spend per order.

Credits are the prepaid unit that tuning services are priced in. You buy a credit bundle once, and each order you place spends credits from your balance. Credits themselves have no currency — they are the unit of work, and the money price of a bundle depends on the currency your supplier bills you in.

Two credit types, two balances — each with its own top-up.

What kinds of credits are there?

Most suppliers price work in two kinds of credits:

  • Slave credits pay for encrypted files that work with slave tuning tools.
  • Master credits pay for editable (master) files.

Some suppliers use a single general credit type instead. In that case the order form will not ask you to choose a credit kind — you pick the file type you need and the order spends general credits.

Each kind has its own balance. A slave-credit balance cannot pay for a master-file order.

When are credits taken from my balance?

Credits are deducted the moment you place the order, not when the file is delivered. The order form shows the exact credit cost before you confirm. If the order is cancelled or fails, the credits are returned to your balance automatically.

The cost, and the balance it comes out of, before you confirm.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits stay on your balance until you spend them, and they remain tied to the supplier you bought them from.

Can I pay without credits?

Yes, in two cases. If your supplier has enabled pay-per-file, you can pay for a single order by card or bank payment at checkout. If your account is set up for monthly invoicing, orders are collected on a monthly invoice instead of being paid up front. The order form shows the payment options available to your account.
